Photos of collapsed, cracked roads show the power of Alaska’s earthquake


Photos of the wreckage in Alaska highlight the power of Friday’s destructive earthquake. Anchorage and its surrounding areas were shaken by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on Friday morning. Gov. Bill Walker issued a disaster declaration, closing schools as roads and bridges collapsed and cracked. The Anchorage Water Waste and Utility Department advised residents to boil their water in case of contamination.
